High on a hill in the Devonshire countryside...from my first sit down chat with Louise & Matt they stressed that they didn't want their wedding to revolve around having staged photographs, it just wasn't their vibe, the wedding had to fit with their personalities. An epic celebration, and the coming together of the people they loved the most in an extremely personal location to have the best time humanly possible.

I firmly believe your day shouldn't be moulded around the pictures, yes they are an important part of the proceedings but engineering every single moment takes away the authenticity. The raw, honest, relaxed moments are often the ones that become the most treasured.


Don't get me wrong, there is absolutely a place for posed photographs within a wedding but the secret is in how you do it. Particularly with group shots, a little gentle direction is ABSOLUTELY necessary. Attention to detail is important and to put it simply...it's my job.


I mean how often do you stand in a neat straight line when you're socialising with your friends?


You don't right? Because REAL moments don't look like that...

My approach has to reflect the desires of my clients, Matt & Louise wanted a fun, relaxed, laid back wedding and the bridal party group shots reflected just that. I had endless fun watching them dance the evening away with their superb Ceilidh band. We also captured a stunning champagne spray at the top of the hill, a group image which has become one of my very favourites as it sums up the entire aura of this wedding...sheer joy.
